As part of the exhibition Medskick från Varberga, RIFT invited local experts and practitioners to Ateljehuset F2 for a roundtable conversation. The day before the conversation, RIFT built a round table from locally sourced materials and plastered it with naturally pigmented clay. The table became both scenography and statement, a tactile setting to explore the question:

How can we build with what the place already offers?

Around the table, perspectives from architecture, agriculture and art met in an open and curious dialogue. Together with Peder Hallkvist (City Architect of Örebro), Joel Holmdahl (permaculture farmer and forester at Rikkenstorp) and Jenny Käll (artist exploring relations between humans, materials and landscapes), we reflected on hyper-local resources, commons that can produce both food and building materials, and how the act of building itself can become a way of learning our place in the ecosystem.
